The challenges of environmental degradation, climate change, and unsustainable resource use continue to escalate, calling for comprehensive and forward-thinking solutions. Waste management, in particular, has become a central concern due to its direct impact on public health, ecosystems, and climate stability. As waste generation grows rapidly in line with urban expansion and economic activities, integrated approaches are needed to ensure effective, environmentally sound, and socially inclusive management systems.

Recognizing the urgency of these issues, the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science Department at Universitas Sebelas Maret is organizing the 7th International Conference on Environmental and Sustainable Development (ICESD). With the theme “Sustainable transformation through green innovation for climate-resilient environmental governance,” this conference aims to bring together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from various disciplines to discuss innovative strategies and collaborative solutions. It provides an academic platform to explore the interconnectedness between waste, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

Through keynote speeches, academic presentations, and interactive discussions, the conference seeks to promote knowledge exchange and research collaboration across sectors and regions.
